280nm to go to Apia, Samoa. We’re making reasonable progress - a bit slower than we’d like but our gennaker is giving us problems when furling. We need a good calm day to look at it - so thats on the bench for now. Its a bit too windy at times for the spinnaker - so we make steady progress with just our genoa. Still hoping to arrive in a couple of days as the wind is due to pick up a bit.

We’ve heard from our friend Tom on Running Tide that he should arrive in Samoa around the same time as us. It’ll be great to do some exploring of Samoa with him - we’ve been bumping into each other since French Guiana back in September last year. He mostly single-hands the boat on the long legs, but Cristie joins him periodically - so it was great to meet her in Panama and then Fakarava & Tahiti.

It looks like we’re approaching another trough - these tend to fluctuate around these latitudes as the South Pacific Convergence Zone moves around. Hopefully this one won’t be too messy for us - already we’re seeing plenty of rain showers (some over us, many on the horizon). Not too much wind associated with them so far...
