Les Sables d'Olonne
Les Sables d'Olonne

It was back to no wind and motoring. We'd have stayed out but we wanted to meet up with some folks at Privilege Marine where Duplicat was originally built and we were deep into holiday season. So as the evenings raft broke up, both Majik and Duplicat struck out for the beach resort. Peter and Lynn gamely tried the sails, but we didn't think it was going to work for us, so it was on with both donkeys... We arrived ahead of them, and took the opportunity to brim the fuel tank, as our next planned leg was to cross Biscay. We then took a hammerhead in the large Port Olona marina. Majik took a berth in the smaller Quai Garnier marina.

The next day was pretty grey and miserable which was a shame for the boats heading out for the start of the Les Sables-Azores-Les Sables race. Though better than getting hit by Bertha on the way back! We had a final dinner with Peter and Lynn at the superb Le Clipper restaurant. They headed off to continue their holidays and we were meeting the folks at Privilege to sort out a leaky window and have a look around the newly resurgent Privilege...
