To begin with, there wasn't enough wind to do anything but motor but by mid-morning we could motor sail nicely. We even managed an hour or so sailing without engines. Once we rounded Cabo da Roca, the wind disappeared and we motored the rest of the way. We even had a superb show put on by some dolphins.
The river Tejo is a great way to see Lisbon. We passed Fort de Sāo Juliāo which guards the North side of the channel.
Forte Buglio guards the south side of the channel.
The fairy tale Tôrre de Belém looks stunning from the river
As we pottered up the river, we met Sofia coming downstream. We've not seen them since we met up in Brest in June. They were ahead of us for a long time, and now we've caught up - they're off again. We may well see them in Lanzarote in November though.
We are now in Marina Parque das Nacoes, which is fun to pronounce on the radio. You enter the marina through a narrow sluice, only slightly wider than Duplicat - which adds to the fun! We dawdled up the river so we arrived just at slack, making things a bit easier.
We plan to stay here a few weeks to really explore the area and then we're heading on a long trip to Morocco.
