We took the falling tide to get through the narrow, unchartered section around Brecknock Harbour - and it worked well. We had some push from the tide and managed some sailing, mostly motor sailing though. The last little bit was motoring as the wind totally disappeared (well, down to 4knots from behind).
Naturally this afternoon the sea breeze has kicked in, but that doesn’t help with the tide timings at the moment!
There’s some creeks and the like to explore here so we may stay a day or two, but we’ll see how the plan looks. Around from here is the start of the Prince Regent river, which will take us a few days to get up, and its a bit easier to do that the days before springs. There is some easterly winds coming too, which feeds into the mix about when to move.
There’s a couple of other boats here in the inlet. Arrow, who leaves tomorrow for the hunter river (one we’ll probably skip, as they are skipping the Prince Regent having done it on their way out), and Liquidity II who are likely headed south and west still.
