Our last night in the river was spent back at Camp Creek. We met up with Matt on Kimberley Quest before lunch, then took the ebb tide down to Camp Creek where we anchored. We were soon joined by Hue Mungus (I kid you not) and it was quite noisy. I don’t suppose we can complain, its the first time in the river we’ve had to share an overnight anchorage. Its not the prettiest of ships, to my eyes.
About mid-morning, the crew on Hue Mungus went out to lay what looked like a mooring, and soon enough a sea plane was landing in the river. Guest changeover day!
Our morning was spent doing boat jobs (mending pressure cookers etc), then we again took the ebb tide out to anchor somewhere on the way. The tide was with us the whole way and around Strong Tide point we reached over 10 knots in tick over on 1 engine. We’ve stopped at Lushington Valley - a place we’ve seen the superyachts use a few times and spoke to the guys from a superyacht called Julind about it. We’ve not pushed in too far as we are heading to springs, but its a nice comfortable spot for an overnight stop and to wait for tomorrow afternoon’s ebb tide…
