We had a great time at Isles des Saintes. We can recommend Ti Kaz La as a great place to eat - the mango soufflé is stunning! We hiked up to Fort Napoleon in the heat and got some great views of the bay from there.
From there we headed to Terre en Bas for a night at anchor before returning to Deshaies which was a great sail though the wind was quite flukey close to the island. I managed to get a lighthouse photo :)
In Deshaies we picked up a buoy and immediately lost 2 days, as Amanda was ill one day and I had a migraine the next! All sorted now, we managed to hire a car and head off to explore. The route du traversée was spectacular. We also hiked up to the waterfalls at Chutes du Carbet.
It's a nice waterfall but at only 115m it's a baby compared to the likes of Kaieteur falls which we hope to see in Guyana later in the year.
We also visited the Botanical gardens here above Deshaies. It's walkable, but the road has no pavement and the traffic flies down the hill. They will send a car to collect you though, so we took that option. The gardens are stunning. Here's a small selection...
