A & F Sails completely failed to show to discuss awnings for the foredeck. This isn't that surprising as the Caribbean 600 race was coming up - but they've not even bothered to call. Very caribbean unfortunately. Similarly with MPS who said they'd come and look at what was required for the wind generator. MoFab did turn up but Mo wanted $2800 for a 2.7m polished stainless mast and some stays!
We have found someone who may be able to do our awning, but the wind generator mast isn't progressing. We'll try and line something up for Sint Maarten.
In the meantime, Alistair came to visit. We managed to get out to do some scuba diving and some sailing. We headed around to Falmouth Harbour and had a look at the boats assembling for the RORC Caribbean 600 race. Lots of very fancy hardware - Phaedo 3 in particular!
Decision made, we'd head up to Shirley Heights to see the start before Alistair had to head for the airport. We arrived in good time to see all the pre-start jockeying and had a great time watching the various classes get underway.
Alas Alistair has had to head off to work, leaving me with servicing the generator and other fun jobs. I may get some more diving in as well though :)
It won't be too long before Amanda is back and we can head north to our next rendezvous. Looking forward to seeing Andrei and Alina again. They set the bar high when they looked after us in Romania, so we hope the BVIs can live up to the billing we gave them!
