Nereids Rally - Day 2

What a beautiful days sailing! Blue oceans, lots of dolphins, fish in the freezer and all on one tack without needing to adjust the sails.

However, it can't last - we were slowly losing the East that we'd banked, and we caught the trailing edge of a number of squalls giving us some solid SE winds for a while (but on rain!). So we will need to put a couple of tacks in to get us down to Guyana.

We have time in hand, and are now planning to arrive at the western channel into the Essequibo at daybreak on Sunday - which happily co-incides with the start of the flood. We won't ride the tide all the way to Bartica - we'll find somewhere to anchor in the lower reaches and catch up on some sleep.

We managed to talk to Piano via SSB in the morning, but the propogation in the evening meant lots of background noise, so whilst I could hear Piano and N'obliez-jamais, they couldn't us.

All is well onboard. We had freshly caught fish with a salad for lunch which was delicious. No idea what the fish was but another would be nice!
