We got there late afternoon, having sailed around from Benodet. Unfortunately there is limited space for catamarans in the marina, and due to the way a few boats had moored (fairly selfishly - thanks Rolling Swiss!), we couldn't find a spot. So we spent the first night anchored nearby in Anse de Kersoz.
The following morning, we spotted a few boats leaving whilst we were having breakfast. One even tried to cut the corner in their rush - and regretted it!
Rolling Swiss moved on too, leaving a nice space at the end of the breakwater for us, so we took our opportunity. Slipped in and had only been moored up for 5 minutes when the harbour master asked us to move. Ok, so we did. It was a bit of a squeeze getting down but not too bad - certainly didn't touch anything. The same cannot be said for our exit, of which more later..
Concarneau is indeed delightful. An old walled town, which is now given over to touristy stuff, and everything else a reasonable sized town can deliver.
We provisioned, enjoyed lunch in the walled town and the following night had a superb meal in Le Flaveur - well recommended!
We bumped into Paul and Jane again, who had been out to Iles de Glénans from Benodet but found it very crowded as "holiday season" had well and truly started.
Time to leave. Somehow, the marina had shrunk. We nudged up to the narrow part, where we had plenty of room previously - but this time! Paul had given us a hand to get off and at the narrow part, others helped walk us past. I can only assume this was the same issue we had in Plymouth before - when the breakwater moves in as the tide drops. It was about the same state of tide - but such is life at sea!
