The tide was against us and already running at 3 knots just half an hour after high water. However it's quite wide, so the standing waves weren't at all bad. Since we've arrived 3 of the 8 boats that were here have left with the outgoing flow and got bounced around quite a bit. Funny that we could only see 5 anchor lights as we approached though!
Once in, we anchored pretty quickly as once the sun was up, it made it harder to see the coral. We found a nice large sand patch and hit it with the anchor but there are lots of bommies around so we will snorkel it later and see if we need to adjust. Once the sun is up high, it'll be easier to move and select a new spot. I also hope to snorkel the pass if we can catch slack water this afternoon. We are noting the pass conditions as friends may be headed this way and up to date intelligence on the pass timings is always useful.
