Day 6
Day 6
by Duplicat (via HF) at 20:05, 2014-12-20 (day 230)
The day started with a rather tasty lunch. (We're counting each day as miday to miday from the start day). THe fish that we caught was incredibly taste and Amanda came up with a superb avacado salsa to go with it. Barry cooked the fish to perfection. Just wish we knew what kind it was! We want more anyway.

We had the Parasailor up all afternoon, but opted to take it down overnight again as it was quite gusty. Overnight watchkeeping was simple - we've not seen another vessel since Tuesday! Its a big ocean out here and its pretty sparsely populated!

We've been exchanging emails with some of our new friends on other boats - and generally having a pretty good time. The winds are blowing nicely so far, mostly E/NE 5 or 6 (Seastate is 2-4m, your lures must be in to win!)

As morning arrived, we opted to get the lines in first, then get the parasailor up - hoping for a repeat. Sadly no such luck and we remain with just the 1 fish to our name. Escape have also had some success, but it could be a photo finish to see who was first! They caught a Mahi-Mahi - hope they enjoyed it!

Not much else to report - we're deliberating when we need to gybe and start heading West - we're definitely in 'butter melts' territory now!
