We opted to anchor out in the bay. The spot near the marina was packed so we tucked in behind a small reef where we were quite comfortable. The dinghy ride across to the marina was a few more minutes but not bad considering. We were treated to some great sunsets.
A new battery was soon acquired and installed. Along with that, we found a D400 wind generator for a good price at Uship. Cheaper than the price in Sint Marten where it would be duty free, even allowing for the 10% discount for cash there. Unfortunately, no-one was able to make a mast for us until at least march - so the project continues.. We'll try and get a mast made in Antigua whilst Amanda is back in the UK and I'll hopefully have the wiring and regulator installed by then.
We tried to hire a car in PaP but it seems to be carnival season, and no cars could be had for a week or more, so wee decided to move on to Isles des Saintes where we are currently on a mooring. We got some nice views of Guadeloupe on our way down...
Our current spot is delightful.
It's so warm here and you really feel the heat when the trades stop blowing! Hard to think of the UK freezing when we're lazing in 33degC heat!
