We caught up on a few jobs both onboard, and online. I managed to get a bit of work done as well. HotHotHotSpot let us down - the performance was abysmal. Mega Network - the other paid-for wifi service (based on Meraki infrastructure) was much better until it also started giving poor performance. Both times it was upstream of the wifi link, so no real excuse for it - and of course they ignore support e-mails once they have your $s. Welcome to the caribbean! ;)
However, the harbour was very nice - the water was crystal clear. It seems too many boaters just throw bottles overboard as the seabed beneath Duplicat was littered with them and there was even a frying pan. Its such a shame people do this - as Bequia provides a place for rubbish disposal (though no recyling) right at the dinghy dock.
After nearly a week of lazing around in Bequia, we decided to press on south - to the Tobago Cays. These small reefs are an idyllic spot - definitely no wifi! It was a great sail down from Bequia - we're past the point where E or SE winds caused us pain - now they're lovely! We fairly flew down from the tip of Bequia to Mayreau where we furled the sails and turned towards the reefs. We're now anchored behind Horseshoe reef. Its a little bit rolly, so we'll probably only stay here a night - but definitely worth it. The colour of the sea is incredible.
