The day after the official welcome, we were taken on a tour. We joined Balkarran of D Factor guest house and Delta 2 tours (see Doyles) and had a fast ride up to Marshall Falls including shooting some rapids. Not quite used to that sort of speed!

The falls were a short hike from the landing and Balkarran made it very interesting indeed, stopping to point out plants and trees and their various uses - one of which was to make a walking stick for Amanda. The swim at the falls was very refreshing. The water was cooler than the river by the boats, but not cold. The massage action from the waves cascading over the rocks was great and free!

The next day (Sunday for those keeping track) was more relaxing. The planned beach party was a very low key affair (maybe even so low key as to have been cancelled due to ticket sales for non-yachting!). We watched Papillion in the evening with hot dogs and nibbles.

Monday was refuelling day for those that needed it. We'd already filled the few jerry cans we needed so I helped Freya get alongside and refuel them and several other boats' jerry cans. Once done, we headed up to Baganara again as I prefer that to the anchorage at Bartica. We tried to get drinks ashore, but the bar was closed so we ended up on Duplicat for sun-downers with Piano.
